Septic Systems

 

In locations where a municipal sewage system is provided it must be used by property owners. Mather, Cartwright, Baldur, Belmont & Ninette have sewage systems. Contact the respective Municipal office to obtain information and permit requirements for the specific location. Any fee is the responsibility of the property owner.

All other locations must have an on-site wastewater management system. Cottage lots in the SR -Seasonal Recreation Zone throughout the planning district must use a septic holding tank.

These on-site systems are regulated by Manitoba Environment, Climate and Parks. A permit must be obtained prior to the installation of a system or a new connection to an existing system. All information is available here.
